Chocolate Trifle

The Chocolate Trifle was such a success at the church dinner that I decided I would post the recipe. It is very easy to make, delicious to eat, and has an appealing presentation:

1 fudge brownie mix
3 small packages instant chocolate pudding mix
1 12 oz. container Cool Whip, thawed
6 Heath bars, crushed

Prepare brownie mix, according to package directions. Let cool and crumble.

Prepare pudding according to package directions, but do not chill.

Put 1/3 of crumbled brownies in bottom of 3 quart trifle dish. Top with 1/3 each of chocolate pudding, cool whip and crushed Heath bars. Repeat layers two more times, ending with crushed Heath bars on top.

Chill 8 hours, if possible. Serve and Enjoy!!

Wow, that looks fantastic! Whenever I see something like that, I think it must be so hard to make...but it really does sound easy. :)

Thanks for visiting my blog, too! You asked where we live... We are enjoying a heavenly part of God's creation in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. :) I grew up here...my husband is from California...we met as students in Israel...after we got married, we lived first in California, then in Israel, and now back to Virginia. We've had a child in each place we've lived, so I guess we'll have to move somewhere else before we can have another one. ;)

Actually, for now, we've settled down here to be near my parents and "care for them as they age." Ha! They're the ones caring for us, I think! :)

Davene,
Yes, your pictures look like they are from Shenandoah Valley region, but for some reason I didn't imagine you in that part of the country! I was born in WV and my SIL from VA is visiting here now. She is from Gainesville, VA. So, I am somewhat familiar with that part of our beautiful country. ENJOY!

E,
You left out the brownie mix in the list of ingredients. Will any kind do?

Thanks Kathy for telling me about the omitted brownie mix! The recipe calls for a fudge brownie mix -- but I'd say you could use anything. We can't always find Heath bars either, and have used Snickers and Butterfingers. In addition, we made a variation of this recipe using angel food cake, french vanilla pudding, and sliced strawberries, kiwi, and bananas. YUM!!! :)
