It's Over

Sherwood football team's venture into the play offs did not last long. It was almost over before it started. For some reason, The Eagles just didn't seem to show up to play, and lost to Bulloch Acadmey 33-0.

They had some good drives down the field, but every time they got in scoring position, they either threw an interception or fumbled the ball. It was a disheartening loss for coaches, players, and fans alike.

Many fans tackled the long 4 hour drive back home after the game, while the team stayed in a motel overnight and came home on the team bus on Saturday. Alan and I drove about an hour to Dublin, Georgia, where we stayed in the neatest B&B!!!

This beautiful 105 year old home, overflowed with charm, both inside and out.

The country breakfast of eggs, grits, bacon and buttermilk biscuits was indescribably delicious, and it was fun talking to some other guests in the dining room, who also happened to be there because their son was playing in a football game nearby!

Here we are in the dining room with Page House owner, Janice Canady, and another guest.

It was so peaceful and relaxing there we could have stayed all day, but we reluctantly left the Page House after breakfast, and headed for Macon, where we started tackling our Christmas shopping. We didn't get far, but I'd say we got a first down.
