A Weekend to Remember

I hope there's not a blogger penalty for lateness, because I'm very late posting this, but I just have to go back and tell you about a special weekend that I had. It was the first weekend in November -- a weekend to remember!! Unfortunately, I got sidetracked with the election and other topics and was just too busy or focused on other things to write about it. So, I'm backtracking now!

October 31st was my boys' last football game of the regular season. It was also Senior Night, so our son, Taylor, was recognized. It turned out to be the BEST game of the season, with our team winning, 21-20!! That win was very significant, because it gave Sherwood their first winning season in school history! They also secured a spot in the region play offs, which unfortunately, did not go so very well.

The game was also special because my daughter, Ashlyn and her best friend (and my "adopted daughter"), Bethany C., came home for the weekend and joined us for the game. It was *so much fun* cheering for the Eagles with the added fan base!! We were so hoarse on Saturday morning from all the cheering we did Friday night! We also weighed a bit more, after enjoying funnel cakes and hot chocolate during the game!

After the victory, I enjoyed taking pictures of the football players (Taylor and Joseph) with Tiffany, Ashlyn, and Bethany! I'm posting several of these, because I coudn't seem to choose a favorite!

Saturday, the girls enjoyed sleeping in some, investing in the "little ones", working out at the gym, shopping, helping me in the kitchen, watching a movie with the fellas, and playing a rousing family game of CatchPhrase!! They tried to pack in as much as possible, but the day still passed way too quickly!

Then, Sunday was church and Sunday dinner, and before I knew it, they had packed their bags and were on their way back to school. It's always hard to say good-bye . . .

These pictures were taken after church, and once again, I had a hard time deciding which ones to leave out, so you'll have to scroll down through several. Make sure you look at all of them, though, because I saved the best for last!!!!

I see you have a necklace with the birthstones of your children. I've always thought it would be too heavy with so many. How do you like it?

Kathy, I love my necklace! I had previously had a gold one a few years back, but then my family outgrew my necklace and then one of my dear children broke it. :( So, Alan bought me that one for Mother's Day last year. It is silver, and not too heavy at all, and I love wearing it!!!

So nice to meet you and your family. I'm always encouraged to see other big families with older kids. It spurs me on- Yes, we will get there, too!

I've enjoyed reading some of your posts. You bet I'll be back for more:)
