Football Finale

Last night was the fall sports banquet, where athletes receive their varsity letters, are recognized for their accomplishments during the season, and are given various awards and honors.

This year, they recognized all athletes who had an average of 90 or higher as Scholar Athletes, instead of honoring just one athlete with the highest GPA. Our boys were among those who were awarded the Scholar Athlete certificate.

Joseph, who is a freshman, earned his varsity letter.

Taylor was once again awarded the Kingdom Athlete Award, for displaying Christian character and servant leadership, both on and off the field, but this year he shared the honor with senior teammate, Zander H., who was also well deserving of this honor.

Joshua was recognized for the exceptional job he did as the football team's manager. Coach Rock profusely praised his selfless service to the team, and said he had never seen a harder working young man in his 28 years of coaching. Josh received a standing ovation from many of the parents in attendance, which I was very glad to see, since he has faithfully done the dirty work for the past two seasons. The following picture shows Josh hard at work at a game. One of his jobs was to provide a dry ball for every play.

I'm going to conclude this post with several random pictures that I like from this football season.
