A Callaway Get-Away!

Friday and Saturday were utterly Glorious after all the rain we've had! Plus, my incredible husband whisked me away for the weekend to beautiful Callaway Gardens, where we could fully enjoy the wonders of spring. We spent the day Saturday enjoying the walking trails and beautiful azalea gardens of Callaway and exploring the antique shops of Pine Mountain, stopping for lunch at an old-fashioned soda shop, before returning to Callaway to enjoy the renowned butterfly center.

These pictures are from the indoor horticulture center, where tropical plants grew in abundance.

One of the highlights was the butterfly center. Exotic butterflies fly everywhere and they seem to consider the guests part of the landscape. Check out this man's nose!

I loved spotting all of the beautiful butterflies in their various hiding places and chasing them around trying to snap their pictures!

Some of the varieties were amazingly colorful!

These are my two favorite pictures! I love the photo above, because the butterfly was so beautiful and I was able to capture the insect collecting nectar from the flower! In the picture below, the butterfly perched on the lady's hand for at least five minutes while guests snapped pictures! Plus, I love the way the sunlight shone through its wings.

Our little get-away ended way too soon, but I hope to make it back to Callaway Gardens again sometime to enjoy the beauty and solace found there.

Did you photoshop or add anything fancy to these pictures?? They're amazing!

No -- and I'm not much of a photographer, so I was surprised at how amazing they turned out! All I did was zoom in with my telephoto lense, and then I cropped some of them when I downloaded them from my camera. I was really pleased with them!

Hey Mrs.Ours!

Your pictures look great! Daddy took all of us girls up to Calloway last weekend. Isn't everything gorgeous there?! Ahh! We love to bike ride through all of the trails for a whole afternoon. We always have a blast!

It's good to hear from you again. Hope to see y'all again sometime soon.

Love in Christ,

Hi Whiddon girls!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! Were you at Calloway just for fun -- or was that the weekend of the VF Father/Daughter Event? It is truly beautiful there! I can't wait to go back!

My camera is nothing special -- Kodak Easy Share Z612 and I don't have photoshop or anything. I just got lucky this time! :)
