The Lesson

My son, Josh, is a lifeguard for the Y. Last summer he spent in the chair, but this summer he is mostly teaching lessons. He really enjoys it and seems to have an ability to connect with the little kids he teaches. Think the fact that he has six younger siblings has anything to do with that???? :)

He offered to teach a little boy from our church how to swim, and he is also doing his brotherly duty and teaching Bethany. Timmy is only 3 and scared of the water, so getting him to cooperate proved to be a challenge! Bethany, on the other hand, has been kicking around in her floaty swimsuit for the last couple summers, so she was eager and ready to learn. I bought her an adorable, big-girl swimsuit (just like Timmy's sister's) for the occasion.

I hope you enjoy the pictures from the first lesson! I think they are pretty adorable!!!

That water looks so refreshing! :)
I'm sure Joshua is a great teacher! Too bad we live so far away, he could teach my children how to swim!

Lifeguarding is hard work! Tim did if for 4 summers while in colleg. He worked at a water park in the wave pool. But he never had the desire to teach swimming!
