The Sound of Music

One of my all time favorite movies is The Sound of Music! Has there ever been a better musical production? I love the story, the songs, everything about it! Except maybe the length.

Last Sunday, Tiffany and I went to see the Theatre Albany version of The Sound of Music. I don't know what we expected, but we were totally enthralled by this production and blown away by the talented actors and actresses that brought it to life! It was long, just like the movie -- but delightful, nonetheless!

It was Tiffany who initiated this excursion, because she teaches with this lady, who played one of the nuns.

And we know someone who works with this woman, who was a perfect Baroness.

Truly the star of the show, was a young woman named, Amber, who played "Maria." Tiffany had met her before, when she worked at a coffee shop with her sister. This young lady did a fabulous job! She lit up the stage with her beautiful smile and sweet voice and engaging stage presence! She brought the play to life with her charm and talent! I was very impressed!

I ended up knowing a few other members of the cast, too, such as the young lady who played "Liesel." She was in Taylor's graduating class at Sherwood, and did a remarkable job in her role!

Overall, we were not only entertained for three hours Sunday afternoon, but highly impressed with the talent right here in our little town.

Looks like you and Tiffany had a great time! I have never been to a theatre production. You will have to go with me sometime......if we could ever coordinate schedules! I am thinking we need a "sister's getaway"....what do you think? :)

Becca,

What a great idea -- a "sister's getaway!" But, I would think we would want that to be at the beach . . . .

What a fun mother/daughter outing! I would love to do something like that with my mother (since I have no daughters). :)
