The Christmas Caper

I can't wait to tell you about the crazy adventure we had last night!! While trying to think of a fitting title for this post, the word caper came to mind. I looked up caper, just to be sure it was the right word, and this is what I found:

Caper:

noun --

1. a playful leap or skip.

2. a prank or trick; harebrained escapade.

3. a frivolous, carefree episode or activity.

4. Slang. a criminal or illegal act, as a burglary or robbery.

Well, that word pretty much sums up it all up!!! :)

It all started like this -- Luke was over at his friend, Jase's house, and we wanted Luke and Jase to go with us to look at Christmas lights. So, we suddenly had the crazy idea to "kidnap" Luke and Jase and take them with us to see the lights! (I don't know -- maybe we ate too much Peppermint Bark or something!) :)

So, we donned these crazy Santa hats of Taylor's, found scarves and blindfolds and gathered all the toy guns in the house, and took off in the big van, headed to Jase's house, which is just a few streets away.

Here is Tiffany, armed and dangerous!! :)

And her accomplice, Hannah! (looking a little too nice to be a kidnapper!)

Luke and Jase put up quite a fight, but we soon had them "strapped" in the van, and we made a remarkable get-away in our "lightening fast" and "extremely agile" 12-passenger van! :) As we navigated the streets of our well-illuminated neighborhood, a new plan began to formulate in our minds! We would kidnap Taylor and Joe, who were a few streets away at the D's house, hanging out with their friends, Abby and Lilly!!

Crazy thought, I know, but we were on a mission now!

We tried to "sneak up on them" at the D's house (in our big, white Ford van!), where they were taking some crazy pictures in the back yard. A surprise attack is always the most effective, you know! :)

I think they were surprised -- at least to see us acting so crazy!!

Here are some pictures of our mission:

This is my favorite picture -- Bethany "kidnapping" Taylor!!

Here are Luke and Jase using a different approach to "kidnap" Joe!!

Tiffany and Hannah successfully "captured" Abby and Lilly!!

Lilly looks pretty traumatized by this attack, don't you think??

Abby and Lilly "scream in terror!"

A picture of the prisoners in the back of the van!

Our final rendezvous point:

After we watched this light display for several minutes (the lights are synchronized to music!), we returned all prisoners, unharmed, and came back to our home base for debriefing!

Mission Accomplished!

We are officially pressing charges for kidnapping! The police should be at your doorstep anyday! ;) haha but that was funny! And, we being Italians, take family matters very seriously! ;) lol

Totally awesome! I haven't thought of "kidnapping" in this way since High School. You've given me some ideas for my family . . . :-0
Thanks for sharing!! Good family times!!

How fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Some of the outdoor scenes for "Preacher's Wife" were filmed in my hometown of Portland, Maine. I cry everytime I see it.

Have a terrific Christmas.
