Who's in Charge Here Anyway??

Ever have one of those days where you are only home long enough to change passengers??

I had one of those days today. Left the house this morning to take Chris to physical therapy. While he was at therapy, I took care of some banking and ran into a popular store to grab an item off one of the children's Christmas lists. When therapy was finally over, I dropped Chris off at the house, and picked up Josh and took him to retrieve his truck from a friend's house. Drove out to pick up four gallons of fresh milk (enough to take us through the weekend!) and ran into another store for a quick looksy and picked up another Christmas gift. Decided I better get some gas in the van, since the Low Fuel light has been on since yesterday. Got home and had about ten minutes before I had to leave again to take Josh to the doctor. Josh was diagnosed with a "nasty sinus infection," so I dropped off his prescription at the pharmacy, went by the grocery store and picked up some items for my MIL, checked on his prescription and learned it wasn't ready, took Josh home, and then went back out to pick up his prescription. While I was out, I ran in another store to take a look around, had a fun phone chat with my BFF, and finally got home about 5:15, as most of the family was on their way out of the driveway to play practice! Whew! What a busy day!

Well, the point of this post is not to bore you with the details of my busy day, to but to share with you what transpired when I left the house to take Josh to the doctor. Since Josh was going with me, I was leaving the five youngest children at home. That would be Chris (14), Hannah (12), Luke (11), Matt (7), and Bethany (5). I leave them home from time to time, with Chris and Hannah in charge. But today, as I was walking through the front door, hollering out last minute instructions, Bethany called to me in her I'm-practically-a-teenager voice, "Mo-om, While you're gone, can I be in charge?!!?" :)

That is too cute. But what I have found now that my youngest is 3 and has been the baby longer than any other kid is that she IS in charge!! I'm telling ya, you've heard the line, if she'd been my first she'd have been my last. There is so much truth in that!!
