Catching Up: Where Do I Start?

Wow!  Time flies and I can't believe it has been over three weeks since I have touched this blog!!  So much has happened that I don't even know where to begin!!!!!

The biggest, most life-changing news is that We are Moving!!!  My husband has been offered a great new job with a county on the Georgia coast, so that means, generally speaking, this will be our new "back yard!!!"

We are Excited, Overwhelmed, Apprehensive, Full of Anticipation -- all rolled up together!

I have been spending every spare second and ounce of energy I can muster cleaning, decluttering, throwing out, organizing, beautifying and trying to get our house here ready to go on the market.  Meanwhile, my computer time has been pretty much limited to emailing realtors and looking up MLS listings, hoping to find the "perfect" house in our new community -- one that we can rent for the next year or two, with the potential for purchasing down the road.

Here are some pictures from our recent house hunting trip to our new community:

The marshes are beautiful!

We looked at many lovely homes, but finding one that fits the unique needs of our family and also our budget is proving to be quite a challenge!  One unanticipated obstacle is trying to find a house with a driveway big enough to fit our fleet of vehicles!!

An unexpected blessing has been working with Marcia, a realtor with endless energy and enthusiasm for helping folks find the right house!  She has really gone above and beyond in searching out houses for us!!!

Looking at different houses and floor plans is fascinating, but we've found that after looking at several properties, the specifics start getting all scrambled together in your mind into a hopeless jumble, so Joe helped us out by taking pictures of some of the houses we were considering.

This pond graced the entrance to one neighborhood!  Notice the Warning signs!!!

We found some good possibilities, but the search for the "perfect" house continues!  I will try to do a better job of keeping you updated!!  I also have quite a bit of catching up to do, so check back here frequently for updates to my blog.

Wonderful. How exciting for you all. And scary. It's hard to pack up a large family and move. My hat's off to you. I pray you will find just the perfect home. All the photos are beautiful.

We did this recently. We even tried to rent, but found that no one wanted to rent to some one with 7 little kids and ended up guying a home that fits our needs better than any other we had. In all of the trouble, I think we came out very blessed. Good luck to you and your house selling and search. The beach looks very inviting. I think I would be excited for sucha move.

Enjoy your new adventure. I can't imagine the work you have in store just organizing the "stuff" your family much have!! But the good thing about moving is that it forces you to lighten the load. We have been in this house 27 years. I pretended we were moving a few years back and got rid of lots of stuff but there is still lots to get rid of....maybe a dumpter in the driveway is what we need!!:) Living near the ocean is wonderful. We are 30 minutes away and it is so calming to take a drive over there and just look at the water.

My goodness, what exciting news indeed! I know you truly have had and will continue to have your work cut out for you! How wonderful though, to be able to look at new houses and new places. Very exciting for the kids, I'm sure! We will keep your search and your tasks in our prayers!

I would LOVE to be closer to the coast, what a blessing!

Such exciting news! What a gorgeous "back yard" you'll have. I just hope you don't end up with any alligators as neighbors... :) Praying for you during the decluttering/packing/selling/searching process!

This brings back memories of when we lived in Charleston! :)
THere are times we really miss living there....especially around mid-winter!
I'm excited for you! Maybe we can finally take that family vacation at the beach!! :)
