Celebrating 50 Years!

After much trial and error, I finally figured out how to upload the slide show that I created for my parent's 50th anniversary reception.  It takes awhile to load, so you might want to get it started and go fold a load of laundry or wash the dishes in the sink, and then come back and watch it!  :)

Update:  Apparently, this is not taking as long to upload as it did when I tested it, so don't be afraid to watch the slide show!  Also, be sure to click the square thingie that expands it to a full page.  It is much better that way!  :)

Wow, Elizabeth. How special that your parents have been together for 50 years, and how sad that the 50 years went by so fast.

I sat here and watched the whole thing, and I don't even know these people. (Btw, it loaded instantly for me.) It was very touching.

Thanks for sharing. Really.

PS. Your mom had some amazing hair (heightwise) in one of those photos. Texas beauty queens would have been very envious. =)

Thank you Donna for watching my slide show! This was my first attempt at creating one! It was a fun challenge.

It was a very moving experience for me to work with these pictures and relive the past 50 years of my parent's lives. How neat to see all those old pictures from when they were a young couple/family,as well as the pictures of my sister and me with our young husbands and children, and to think about how quickly our lives pass. No wonder we are instructed to number our days!!

My parents have not had an easy life, but they have been faithful to each other and to God. I am very blessed!!!

I'm so glad you were able to post that! I wouldnt even know how!

You did a great job making the slide show. Thanks for making this a special celebration for mom and dad!

You are right....time is short, and how easy it is to forget that our days are numbered!

Re: The Hair!!!

Yes, I'm not "teasing" when I say my Mom had some Big Hair back in the 70's! ;) She used to go to the beauty shop once a week and have it fixed and then tried to keep it from getting messed up the rest of the week! :) It was definitely a time of interesting hair styles!

So Special!! I've seen most of those old pics over the years but to see them all together is great. Your mom's hair was epic!! I recall my mom going through the same process with a weekly wash and style. I couldn't stand not being able to wash for a week!! Your parents had and have a great love story! They cherish each other just like your grandparents cherished each other. Great role models for the next generation. Your children and Rebecca's are blessed to have them as grandparents. And BTW Rebecca looks so much like your mom in some of those pics.

Thanks for sharing the slide show. It was so good to see the old pictures and the new ones. What a blessed life Mom and Dad have had, despite all their struggles.

We have been in the States for the last 2 weeks and we have 4 more to go visiting churches and raising funds for the work in Africa. It is great to be back here!

What a precious slide show... I had a smile on my face the entire time. It's so encouraging to see older couples celebrating their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries especially when God is the uniting bond, so much history, so many stories. Time does fly by so quickly. BTW, your mom still has great looking hair : )

Thank you for sharing.
