An Eventful Day

Yesterday morning, while enjoying a peaceful morning with my children, my laptop and a cup of coffee, I received the call no parent wants to receive -- Taylor called to say he had been in a wreck on the way to college.  :(

Fortunately, he was not hurt -- just some superficial wounds, but his beloved truck was Totalled.

Unfortunately, it was his fault -- Failure to yield right of way.  :(

He was pretty shaken up.  I felt sorry for him, and yet I know that sometimes it is good for young adult males between the ages of 16 and 66 to be sobered when it comes to the realities of what can happen when they are behind the wheel  . . .

On a brighter note, last night I was able to join some other homeschooling moms in the area for a Mom's Night Out!  It was really fun to connect with these enthusiastic ladies!  I look forward to getting to know them all better in the months ahead . . . .

Oh man, that is so scary. What a blessing he wasn't injured. And how fun for you to have your night out!

I'm so glad he wasn't hurt! (Vehicles are replaceable; people, not so much.) Blake was in a terrible wreck when he was away at college. The car was totaled and he and his friend who was driving could have been killed if it had occurred a few seconds later. In their case the wreck was the fault of an old lady, who had no business driving. She left the scene of the accident and came back two more times, trying again to kill them. :-/

Blake and friend were on the way to church when it happened. =) I got the call as I walked in from church, and it was on my birthday. =( So scary.

I'm excited for you ... you are "jumping in" life in a new city! How fun to have a mom's night out....what neat fellowship you were able to have!

So sorry to hear about the beloved truck! I'm glad it was not a more severe wreck, and he was not seriously injured! I wish you lived closer....I'm sure Anna wouldn't mind if he borrowed "big blue" for a while!! :) (of course, he may prefer riding with mom over that option!)

Oh no! I'm glad your son is ok. God is so good to protect us, even when we're not always doing the best thing.

Sorry to hear about your son! Mother's cannot always protect their children, but God can and it sounds like He did indeed! Good to hear that he's okay. I'm happy that you were able to connect with other homeschool moms, that's important!! Wish I had more of that! Blessing to you, Happy September!! ~Amy
