Embracing Change -- Day 1 of Our Moving Adventure

Last Monday, I woke up and started the day by coming face to face with the following difficult facts:

Number One:  I was no longer 47.

Number Two:  I was essentially the same size I was a year ago when I turned 47 and vowed to not turn 48 without losing a significant amount of weight.  :(

Number Three:  I was about to watch my lovely house be "torn apart" room by room.

Number Four:  I was not going to have time to do anything special for my birthday or my blogoversary.  (I had planned to host a  fun give-away.)

After a brief moment of sadness, I embraced my day, such as it was -- a beautiful fall day that would bring about a season of change in my life.

The movers arrived right on time at 8 am, before I was really ready for them!  I spent the bulk of the day scurrying around, washing as many loads of laundry as I could, washing dishes, giving direction to the packing guys and "playing hide and seek."  By that I mean, I hurried to hide the stuff we didn't want them to pack, and they had a way of finding it and packing it anyway!!  :)

This is what my day looked like:

The movers were extremely fast and efficient.  The down side of that is they packed up way more than I expected that first day!~  But there is always a silver lining -- in this case it was that we were forced to go out to eat, since my kitchen was all boxed up!  ;)

Here we are at Chili's:

Comfort Food!  :)

Good attitude! Embrace the changes! (There's not a lot you can do about them anyway.) Just looking at all that packing made me tired, so I'm going to bed now. I hope you are in your new house soon and that all goes well in the process.

XO!
Donna

PS. That food photo was really professional looking! And tasty-looking, too. =)

Belated Happy Birthday. I'm sorry it wasn't all that you had hoped. Must be the year for it. DH was overseas and out of cell phone range for my birthday and will also be overseas for his birthday. As you get older they just seem like another ordinary day, but you still dream for something a little more special. :)

I can still remember our last big move and I hope never to have to do that again. At least you have a great attitude. As hard as it must be for your daughter I pray that she will experience blessing in this new chapter of her life.

I love your birthday humor....you are always so funny. :) Happy birthday again.........I can't wait for you to get your "big suprprise"! (hopefully you will still love me, and find the humor of it all!)

I find it humorous how we can be so much alike and yet so different at times! I look at those pics of your house, and think what *fun*!! I can picture my kids running through the boxes playing hide and seek! :) (If the opportunity would present itself, they might even try to package each other up!)

Your dinner looked sooooo good! I hope you ate some for me! Amidst all the chaos of moving, there are some benefits!!
