Just a Few of the Things I am Thankful For this Thanksgiving

We are just So Blessed!!  Here are a few of the things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving:

* Faithful, hard-working husband of 27 years:

*  Crazy Family that has Fun Together:

*  Beautiful, talented, godly oldest daughter:

* with a Special Talent for making Delicious Apple and Pumpkin Pies from scratch!

* Sweet "adopted daughter" who loves God and our family (especially a certain young man!)

* Cozy home where we live, laugh and love:

* Abundance of Delicious, Wholesome Food:

* Ability to see, smell, and taste the blessings of Thanksgiving Day:

* Blessing of New Round Table:

* Friends and Familly Gathered around our Table:

* Verse haltingly read by little 8 year old who could not read at all this time last year:

* Safe and snuggly place to snooze once bellies are full:

* Blessings of the Lord!

We rehearsed the blessings of the Lord before eating our Thanksgiving meal by going around the table and each reading a portion of Psalm 103.

PSALM 103 -- Praise for the LORD's Mercies

A Psalm of David.

Bless the LORD, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.
17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children's children,
18 To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
19 The LORD has established His throne in heaven,
And His kingdom rules over all.
20 Bless the LORD, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
21 Bless the LORD, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
22 Bless the LORD, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.

Bless the LORD, O my soul!

Great post! :)
We truly have much to be thankful for! We are blessed "above and beyone what we could ask or think"!
You have a very special family, and we love each and every one of you!! :)
I really enjoyed all the pics of the family! I think you need to get a "Taylor size" piece of furniture, as he looks so uncomfortable trying to sleep. Tiffany's pies look delicious, and she looks really snuggly on the couch with Sofi! BTW, ADORABLE pic of Tiffany and Abby! :)
I love your table with the candles at each plate...what a neat idea..I may have to steal that one! :) Everyone looked like they had a great day of full bellies, fellowship, play, and rest! :) Wish we could have been there! LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

What a great post. I came over here hoping to see the big, round table loaded up with food and family. I was beginning to think, oh no, no pictures of that lovely table. And then as I got further down I thought, cool, she didn't let me down!! What a great day for you all.

Great Thanksgiving photos, Elizabeth! It looks like you had quite the crowd. With your family, it's always a crowd. =) Btw, I'm sorry I don't have an available son for your oldest daughter. I think our families would be quite compatible. =)

Rebecca, I used the votive candle holders as "place cards." A recycled idea from last Thanksgiving, when I had the inspiration to try that! You can write names on them with a Vis-a-Vis marker and then wipe off and write a different name the next year! :)

mommyx12 -- so glad I didn't let you down!! Yes, the round table worked well and was lovely! I am so grateful for it . . . . but still hoping we might have our long dining table back before Christmas! :)

Donna G -- does that mean you think our family is a little bit out of the ordinary and loves our food???? ;)

What a wonderful weekend you must be having with most of your family home. And I made your biscuits (they were a hit) and next year I might need Tiffany to come help with my pies, I forgot the sugar in the pumpkin pie and burned the crust for the chocolate cream one but we had plenty of other sweets. The pumpkin pie wasn't too bad if you put plenty of whipped cream on it. Our entire family will have our Thanksgiving meal together tomorrow and I promised no turkey leftovers. I think we are putting steak on the grill and a big salad.

Sorry for the challenges with your pies!!! Tiffany had a Great teacher (my Mom) and is an Amazing Pie maker!!!

I'm glad the biscuits turned out well for you! It is such an easy and dellicious recipe!

I ended up not making your yeast roll recipe, as I found my favorite brand at the grocery store -- Sister Schuberts -- and decided to BUY ROLLS!! You have to cut corners somewhere . . . ;)
