Decadent Fudge Cake Recipe

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 cups flour
1 4-oz bar German chocolate baking chocolate (melted and cooled)
2  5.5 oz cans Hershey chocolate syrup
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet mini chocolate chips, divided
4 oz. bar white chocolate (morsels or baking chocolate)
2 TBSP plus 2 tsp "shortening", divided

Cream butter in large mixing bowl.  Gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed with electric mixer.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Combine buttermilk and soda, stirring well.  Add to creamed mixture alternately with flour, beginning and ending with flour.

Add melted baking chocolate, chocolate syrup, and vanilla.  Mix well.  Stir in 1 cup mini morsels.

Pour batter into a heavily greased and floured 10 inch Bundt Cake pan.

Bake at 300 degrees F for 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until a wooden thoothpick inserted near center comes out clean.

Invert cake IMMEDIATELY onto serving plate.  Let cool completely.  Then Glaze.

GLAZE:
Combine 4 ounce white chocolate and 2 TBSP shortening (I used coconut oil, of course!) in a microwavable bowl on DEFROST setting, stirring until smooth.  Drizzle over cooled cake.

Melt remaining 1/2 cup mini morsels and 2 tsp shortening (or alternative fat) on DEFROST setting, stirring until smooth.  Cool just a bit and drizzle over white chocolate.

This is DELICIOUS and VERY PRETTY!

Wow! It will fix that chocolate craving for sure. I just made two of your pound cakes (pumpkin and cream cheese) I had made the pumpkin one at Thanksgiving and we loved it. But the cream cheese pound cake is just so yummy! So basic but perfect!! I just had to sample it! We are having the pastor and his family plus several friends over after our Christmas eve service so these cakes will be a great hit!
