Our Moving Adventure -- Act 2, Scene 2

We have been working really hard this week to get all of our furniture arranged, boxes unpacked, pictures hung, etc., so that we will be all settled in time for Christmas!  Hannah was a Huge help in the dining room!  She unpacked most of the china and table linens and stuff and helped me organize the buffet and the china cabinet!  (Thanks Hannah!)

We've definitely made a lot of progress!!  (At least downstairs!  Everything we don't know what to do with has been shipped upstairs to the Bonus Room, which is the Last Frontier!)

So, want to see what we've accomplished??

Here is the Family Room:

Here is the dining room:

And here is the living room.  This was all Alan's Mom's furniture.

And here is our Christmas Tree!  :)

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas . . . . and it is beginning to feel a lot like Home!

Your own things around you would certainly feel a little more like home!

Your house is beautiful, Elizabeth! How wonderful your dining room is big enough for that big table.

Well Donna, about that! Do you know how hard it was to find a house with a dining room that would accomodate our table??? :) That was one of our criteria as we looked at houses!!

Actually, we flip flopped rooms in this house to make it work. Our living room was their dining room and our dining room was their living room! We think it flows much better this way, and works better for the living room to be away from the family room. There is a door that closes off the living room from the kitchen.

Also, right now we have the table set up with one leaf in place. The nice thing about the open floor plan, is when we have the other leaf in (for big holiday dinners!), we can just extend the table a bit into the family room! I think it will work nicely!!!
