When Your Older Kids Treat You to a Special Time Together

I was thinking about what a blessing it is when your older kids actually help you enjoy a special time together as a couple!   Do you remember the special evening Alan and I enjoyed last summer, when Joe and Abby concocted a surprise for us, and then recruited all the kids to help them execute the plan?  That was when we enjoyed a delicious, romantic dinner at the "best restaurant in town!"   Read about it here!

If you have older kids, have they ever helped arrange a special time for you and your husband to spend together?  If so, please leave me a comment and share about it -- or blog about it and share the link here.  Perhaps it will encourage a mom still in the trenches with lots of littles!

That was so sweet of them! You will have to prompt mine to think of something like that! :)

What precious memories you have through the years! :)

Our children do that sort of thing all the time. Not necessarily to as elaborate as Joe and Abby did last year, but they are always very encouraging for us to spend special tie together. They take the younger ones to the park, or plan a special evening with them to keep them cheerfully occupied. There have been several times they have cooked up wonderful meals for us. Thanks for reminding me to count this blessing.

Our sons went together a couple of years ago and gave us a night away for Xmas. They actually planned it around a basketball game they knew we would be attending at Eric's college. They have both cooked us a few yummy meals these past few years! Both are great cooks and actually do most of the cooking in their households! I just enjoy anytime they plan time for us to spend together.
