My Week in Review

It has been a full week!  Tiffany surprised us by arriving Sunday night about 10 pm, eager to dive into her summer break with gusto!!!  :)

We were ready to do whatever it took to help her get her summer off to a good start!  In the spirit of sacrifice, we went to the beach with her four times during the week!!   ;)   Therefore, this post is loaded with beach photos!!!

However, it wasn't all fun in the sun.  The week held a few surprises, too.  One afternoon we had some key adventures.  First, Tiffany found someone's car keys in the ocean . . . and after using the clicker to blow their horn, we went on a search through the parking lot for the matching vehicle!  Then, we didn't know what to do with the keys . . . .but finally spotted a policeman and gave them to him.  Then, when we went to leave, we discovered with dismay that Tiffany's keys were locked in her car!!  :(  After a loong wait for AAA to dispatch a locksmith, we were finally able to enter the car and head for home!!   It was not a disaster, but it did make for a long day and required some flexibility!

Another day brought a devastating turn of events for Joe, when he was in a wreck and totalled his "Monte Carjoe."  Even though it was discouraging to lose his car, we are grateful that he was not seriously injured . . . or worse!!  Still, it was a reminder that you never know what a day may bring forth . . .

Well, I could share more of the ups and downs . . . but I'll just wrap up the week by sharing these photos from our relaxing days at the beach:

GREAT beach photos! I'll be sharing mine in a couple of months! (If I ever get caught up on my blog.....)
Graham locked her keys in the car, and Conrad had a wreck! Seems like we're on the same track.

Donna, I'll admit that you have me beat on that one! Nothing can compare with the beautiful beaches of the Destin area! And those sunsets are breathtaking!!!! I look forward to the pictures!

And if we're going to run on the same track, please give me a heads up when you encounter the next trial so I know what to be ready for!! LOL!

Looks like you had a great time at the beach...adventures and all! Life would be boring without them, and adventures make memories!

Hope Joe is doing okay. Did the situation get resolved? It wasn't long ago I received that phone call from Amber that her car had been totaled. (You were able to drive across town to help Joe, we had to drive 10 hours to get to Amber!) It is a hard reminder that we can't protect our family from harm, but we must trust God in all things, and remember that no matter what the turn of events, He is good All the time! :)

I think every teenage driver has to total a car as a rite of passage. And as long as no one is hurt then looking back I think it is a good lesson to the driver of just how careful you have to be on the road not only as an offensive driver but as a defensive one as well. When an old car is totalled it is such a burden $$$wise because that old car is always worth more to the family than the insurance see its worth. And your pictures brought the thought of "Life is Good" to mind!! Love the beach!!
