Tummy Toning Tuesday: Lifting Ribs

Stop right now and answer this question -- how is your posture??  Yes, right now, sitting at your computer or laptop or Ipad -- are you sitting up straight and tall with your transverse muscle (abs!) engaged and your ribs lifted?  Or are you Slouching???    


I don't know about you, but I have slouched my entire life!  That makes it very difficult to learn a new habit this late in the game, but I'm trying to learn to sit and stand up straight with my abdominal muscles contracted and my lats engaged!


Kayla Howard, senior T-Tapp trainer, created this very helpful video to teach all of us slouchers how to lift ribs and press our belly button into the spine for a flatter belly.  This meshes perfectly with what I learned from Julie Tupler and her 4 Step Technique for healing a diastasis recti.

OK -- now are your ribs up??  (I've already let mine collapse.  :(  Old habits are so hard to break!)
