Giveaway Extravaganza #3 - Jesus Calling

I'm Home!  :)

Even though we had a great week at the beach, it still feels good to be home!  Today is our church's 13th Anniversary Service with a big fellowship meal planned for after the services, so I have a busy day ahead!  However, before I get busy with my day, I want to announce my next giveaway!  Have you been following my September Giveaway Extravaganza?

If you missed the first two giveaways, here they are:

Today I'm excited to announce that I'm giving away a copy of the devotional book, Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young. I've read many devotional books off and on through the years, but none have impacted me personally like this book!

It is amazing how God uses this devotional in my life and in the lives of my family members.  So many times the printed devotional of the day, is exactly what we need for that day!  It is unbelievable how much it speaks into our lives!

Another thing I love about this devotional is how it encourages me to see Jesus on a personal level calling me into a relationship with Him.  The most important thing to grasp, but which is often misunderstood, about true Christianity is that it is a relationship with our Creator and not a religion governed by a bunch of man-made rules.  The more we get to know our Lord, the more we love Him and want to obey Him and glorify Him.  Meanwhile, He enables us through His grace, which is both the desire and the power to do His will!  Praise God!!

I think today's entry is very representative of this devotional:

I designed you to live in union with Me. This union does not negate who you are; it actually makes you more fully yourself. When you try to live independently of Me, you experience emptiness and dissatisfaction. You may gain the whole world and yet lose everything that really counts. Find fulfillment through living close to Me, yielding to My purposes for you.  Though I may lead you along paths that feel alien to you, trust that I know what I am doing. If you follow  me wholeheartedly you will discover facets of yourself that were previously hidden. I know you intimately -- far better than you know yourself. In union with Me, you are complete. In closeness to Me, you are transformed more and more into the one I designed you to be.

I also want to share this entry from September 8th, which really encouraged me on that day and just about every day since!

Accept each day exactly as it comes to you. By that, I mean not only  the circumstances of your day but also the condition of your body. Your assignment is to trust Me absolutely, resting in My sovereignty and faithfulness. On some days, your circumstances and your physical condition feel out of balance: the demands on you seem far greater than your strength. Days like that present a choice between two alternatives -- giving up or relying on Me. Even if you wrongly choose the first alternative, I will not reject you. You can turn to Me at any point, and I will help you crawl out of the mire of discouragement. I will infuse My strength into you moment by moment, giving you all that you need for this day. Trust Me, by relying on My empowering Presence.

See what I mean?  Aren't these encouraging??

I am happy to give away one copy of Jesus Calling to one of my readers.  I'm trusting God to allow me to draw the name of the woman He wants to receive this book at this time!

To enter, please leave me a comment telling me why you would want to win this book.  You may earn extra entries by sharing this giveaway on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, by email, etc.  Just let me know what you did.

May you find peace in His presence today . . .

Hi Elizabeth,
I'd love to win this devotional book as I've heard so much about it over the past 4 or 5 months from you and other ladies! I shared your giveaways on my Facebook too. Does that give me an extra entry?!

I would love to win this book so I could bless and encourage my wonderful daughter-in-law with it for Christmas this year. By the way, love your blog!

I was given the Jesus Calling Devotional Bible as a gift this past Christmas by a friend. I have to say I really really enjoy it! I would love to win this and give it to my mother for Christmas. There is just something in the way it is written that makes it so easy to relate to. She does a great job and it has been extremely helpful to me lately. I really like the fact that you can open the front and it has the index so you can look for exactly what you may need at that moment whenever it may be.
