Giveaway Extravaganza #4 - Doily and Life-changing Testimony

"Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her own works praise her in the gates." ~ Proverbs 31:31

See the beautiful doily above??  This doily was crocheted by my precious mother especially for me to give away to one of you for my September Giveaway Extrvaganza!  She chose the pineapple motif, because the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality!

Through the years my mother would often sit with my father to watch football games, golf, and other things on TV that she had little to no interest in, just to spend time with him.  She was not one to ever be idle, so her hands would be flying and her knitting needles clicking, as she worked on her latest hand project -- usually knitting or crocheting a baby gift for someone. At least, that is what I remember her working on the most!  She was also an excellent seamstress, who made the majority of our clothes, so she wisely ordered her work and saved her hand-sewing to do in the evenings as she sat in the family room beside my Dad.  Numerous dainty doilies have emerged from her flying fingers over the years!  She even made me a gorgeous crocheted table cloth that took her hundreds and hundreds of hours to complete!!

"She seeketh wool and flax and worketh willingly with her hands."  ~ Proverbs 31:13

My Mom is a beautiful illustration of the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31!  Every one of the verses could be applied to her life! However, most importantly, she learned the secret of the Proverbs 31 woman, which is found in verse 30 ~ "Favour is deceitful and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised."

My Mom developed a sweet dependence on the Lord by learning to trust Him with a lifetime of suffering.  Her mantra is "Jesus is the blessed controller of all things!"  (1 Timothy 6:15, Phillips translation) She knows that nothing takes Him by surprise, and everything that happens to her is filtered through his fingers of love!  And that is why she has been able to forgive her offenders, love her enemies, rejoice in Him even though her body is ravaged by disease, and trust Him no matter what twists and turns her life takes.

In addition to the beautiful, heirloom quality doily above, I am giving away a CD of my Mom's powerful testimony.  If you or someone you know has staggered under the weight of guilt and despair that comes from enduring abuse, lifelong debilitating illness, a rocky marriage, a severely sick child, progressive hearing loss, and so much more -- you will want to enter to win this copy of her amazing testimony!  It is truly life-changing!

To enter, just leave me a comment telling me why you would like to win this giveaway.  I'm praying God directs me as I choose a winner.  (The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision is from the LORD. ~ Proverbs 16:33)

Wow...I feel blessed already as I have seen your mother through your eyes. I would love to win your generous give-away to hear your mother's testimony and what an honor it would be to display the beautiful doily in my home.
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
Your parents obviously raised you in The Word and it shows in the way you honor your mother in your blog.
Peace and Blessings.

I had a mom who by the grace of God endured much, also, and I miss her every day! As someone who has found life to be hard too, I would love to hear and be encouraged your mother's testimony.

Dear Elizabeth, your Dear Mother has done a wonderful accomplishment in raising her dear children to love the LORD & serve HIM with great love. I can see the love she has for HIM in this lovely doily! It looks like the ones my own Dear Grandmother made so often. Most of those were destroyed when our house was burn when I was only 10. Grandmother developed cancer after that & died when I was 13. She was the most important lady in my young life. This doily so reminds me of her! She loved the LORD too! And endured many hardships over her short life but was ever kind & loving to all around her. I would be honored to receive such a prize & also to receive your Mother's testimony. I can see both would be of great value to so many of us ladies. If I should win, I would want to share the CD with other ladies in our Bible Study Group. Thank you for offering us an opportunity to win such dear prizes.

The doily is so beautiful. It would be something very neat to pass down to my daughters when they get older. I would love to have it and the cd of your mom's testimony. Just reading what she has written in the past couple of weeks has been so encouraging! I would love so much to hear from her what God has brought her to and through. Especially more on this subject she is blogging about.

Thank you dear Betty!! I know you will treasure these items all the more, when you learn that I have been with my dear mother these past several days where she is preparing to meet her Savior face to face! Her heart is giving out and she is sooo ready -- but the passage is a long one. Please pray for her!
