Marriage Monday: When You Can't Respect Your Husband {Link up}

Marriage Mondays"

Welcome back to Marriage Monday!  Did you go out to coffee with your husband this week?

Today I'm writing from beautiful Hilton Head Island, South Carolina!  We are all set for a gorgeous week here with highs in the low 80's and plenty of Carolina sunshine!

Since I'm on vacation this week, I thought I'd let another blogger do the work for me!  ;)  As you know, one of the major themes of this Marriage Monday series has been the importance of respecting your husband. Therefore, I was really impressed by this post on The Alabaster Jar a couple weeks ago on what to do if you've lost respect for your husband.  It is very practical and addresses a common problem that women face.

Most Christian women that object to the biblical teachings to honor and respect their husbands do so for one of three reasons:  because they've been brainwashed by the modern feminist teachings on marriage into thinking that these biblical commands are outdated, because they've lost respect for their own husbands or men in general, or because their husbands are unbelievers, and they mistakenly believe they don't have to submit to or respect such a man until he repents.

One of the purposes of my Marriage Monday series is to chip away at the first issue by presenting solid biblical teaching on biblical womanhood week after week. The best way to address the second issue is by referring you to Jolene Engle's excellent article on what to do if you've lost respect for your husband, which includes some practical steps for recapturing that respect.  Then, in coming weeks, I'll be sharing some tips on living with an unsaved man, from a woman who did so for many, many years.  So, make sure you check back for these powerful posts!

Your Turn to Share:

Do you struggle with respecting your husband?  If so, please read Jolene's powerful post, and let me know what you think!

If you were blessed or encouraged by this post, please consider sharing it with your friends on Facebook or other social media sites.  Thank you!

Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for your kind words. I'm humbled. May the Lord be glorified by all that we share and may many women seek out to please Christ in their marriages rather than themselves.
