Taking a Break

Oops!  Yesterday was Monday, wasn't it??  ;)

I apologize, but I totally forgot about my Marriage Monday Link-Up!

I'm here in South Carolina staying with my precious parents for a few days. In all likelihood, this will be my Mom's last Christmas on this earth . . . although, her hope is to be with her Savior before Christmas!

By the time I get home, the Christmas celebration will be in full swing at my house!  And we have a busy week of work to be accomplished during the week between Christmas and New Years.

So, with all I have going on, I've decided to take a blogging break through the end of the year.  As you've probably noticed, I've been struggling to keep up with my blog these last few weeks anyway.

This will give me a chance to step back, reevaluate and reflect and consider what direction I want to take in the new year.  Should I continue this blog?  Or redirect my time and energies elsewhere?  Based on what I know now, I anticipate that the new year will contain some significant changes and challenges.  My resources will be stretched in many ways.  So, I'm praying for God's direction, provision, and peace as I prepare for the upcoming year.

To you, my dear readers and friends -- may you have a blessed Christmas and may you also seek God's direction, protection, and provision for the upcoming year.  We never know what a year holds -- or even what a day holds for that matter -- but He does!  He promises to go before us preparing the way, to never leave us or forsake us, and to work all things together for our ultimate good!  As I've recently been challenged to remember -- our God doeth all things well!!

See you in January . . . .

Praying for your mother and especially all of you, during this time. Your blog is such an encouragement to me and I pray that you continue it, but it's more important to do what God desires of you. Wishing you all the Merriest of Christmases and an amazing New Year!

Elizabeth, I discovered your wonderful blog just 8 months ago. Since that time, I have been so blessed and encouraged by the words and stories you share. I feel like we have so much in common! I believe that is why I have received so much from you wisdom.
I joined with you this year in the ""Nifty Fifty" club, turning 50 in November. I am also a homeschooling mom, have both adult (and married) children, and younger school age children as well. Another similarity is that we have both been caring for ill parents. My Daddy battled lung cancer for the past, nearly 3 years. My family (my husband, children and I) moved in with Mom and Daddy to care for them. Daddy wanted to spend his final days at home. We had a big celebration on August 4th for Mom and Daddy's 50th wedding anniversary and then he went to be with Jesus on September 1st. Mom was so incredibly sad. I had the privilege of spending a lot of time praying and crying with her. She was just so sad, and missed him so. She suddenly, and very traumatically went to join him on October 20th. It was not at all expected...and very, very difficult. Even today, it does not seem real. I am sharing all of this, because I want you to know that your blog has been such an encouragement, and many times the Lord has used your words as a healing balm for my spirit. Thank you so much for your faithfulness to what God has both gifted you with, and called you to do.I completely understand the need to re-evaluate and making sure our priorities are in line with what the Lord has for us to do. I will pray for you and for your family as you see what is next for you. I feel like you are a kindred spirit friend, even though we have never met...this is a new experience for me...and I cherish it!
Thank you again...so very much.
Much love and Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I don't know if your mom has passed away or not, but I hope you cherish the last times with her. My mom died in May at the age of 67 Christmas was very hard this year. We all miss her so much! It is hard to comprehend how much you will miss someone until they are gone.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with her!

I understand stepping back... in the fall during Bible Study I realized that the internet was taking up way to much time in my life. I have found that giving myself a time limit, I have more time for more precious things!! Like the Lord, my family and for real people relationships. I had missed that you were away due to my reflecting. I enjoy blogging and the encouragement I get from blogs such as yours. In 2013 I am simplifying many things and what blogs I frequent is one of them.

I am sorry about your mother, and although I don't know what has happened in the past few weeks the Lord does and I pray He is giving you comfort and peace during this tough time.

Hope to read from you soon. May God give you what you need today!!
