To Blog or Not to Blog?

Wow -- it felt good to sign in to Blogger just now and start writing this post!  I have really missed blogging and interacting with y'all during my blogging break!

I do want to thank you for your sweet emails and comments letting me know that you missed me and hoped I'd be back, but that you totally understood my need for a break.  That really meant the world to me!

I've had a lot going on, and November and December were challenging months for me in many ways.  We were facing a huge trial, and I alternated between moments of great faith in what God was going to do and moments of utter hopelessness.  But the Lord is so faithful, even when we are not!  He has done great things for us!!  I hope to share some of what the Lord has been doing in my life and in the life of my family in the days ahead!

Yes, you read that right -- "in the days ahead!"  After much thought and prayer, I have decided to continue blogging!  :)  As I am able . . .   Depending on how this year unfolds, there may be times that I'm just not able to keep up.  If so, I hope you'll understand!

I love blogging!  It combines my love for writing and my love for encouraging others, and allows me to share glimpses of what it is going on in my family along side what is going on in my heart.  But it does take TIME.  And Focus.  And at times, I have succumbed to the temptation to elevate my blogging time above my real priorities -- time with God and my Family.  (More on that in a future post.)

So, before continuing this blog, I wanted to know the Lord's desire for me and whether blogging was something He wanted me to try to carve out of my busy days.  I can't wait for you to see the beautiful verse He gave to me:

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all they wondrous works.  ~ Psalm 26:7

Now I have the confidence that God wants me to continue blogging and sharing about what He is doing in my heart, in my life, and in my family!  I am looking forward to magnifying the Lord together in the coming year!  :)

Yay!! So glad you are continuing your blog! I may not always take time to comment, but I do enjoy reading your posts! Sometimes it is fun to just be a part of your family, to see what is happening, and narrow the miles gap between us, even if only for a few minutes! Other posts are more encouraging or even convicting! Thanks for being willing to take time to share what God has put on your heart! I love you! :)

I am glad that you have decided to continue blogging. I think it is important for role models - and I consider you one - to share thoughts, insights and inspiration.
I am sorry to hear about your challenging family situation. Realising that your parents will not be with you forever is tough. Eventually losing a parent is even tougher. Saying goodbye is one thing, changed circumstances, roles and challenges in the years to follow is another. I hope you will be able to draw continuing strength from your faith and your wonderful family. Best wishes

I recently discovered your blog and I am so glad you are continuing to blog. You have a wonderful ministry here! And I love your big family! I only have two children so far (18 months and 2 months) but God willing many more in the future!
I currently mostly blog about crafts...but I am starting to feel like if I am going to put the time into blogging it needs to be about something more important.
I am thinking about starting a series on my blog dealing with all sort of faith topics. I plan for it to be several women each week reflecting on the same issue. I would love if you'd consider being part of this.
If you are I intested or if you'd like more details please email me: I hope it will not only bring more traffic to both of our blogs but (so much more importantly) help to develops community of faith filled women.
