Mission Accomplished!!

As you may remember, my Mom has been busily crocheting afghans!!  Her goal -- which seemed unrealistic back in the fall when she set it  -- was to crochet afghans for all 15 of her grandchildren before she died!!  I'm happy to report that she has accomplished her goal!  She has even made a small afghan for her Hospice nurse!  :)

I thought you'd enjoy seeing some of her beautiful creations!  I think my favorite is Joe's afghan.  He requested garnet -- because he said that garnet is always in style!  (Garnet and black are the colors of the South Carolina Gamecocks!)  ;)

I wish you could see this beautiful afghan in person!!  Joe was very pleased with it!

Here are some pictures of the "fantastic five" snuggling with their cozy afghans from their Nanny!

Unfortunately, these pictures don't begin to do them justice!  Trust me -- they are beautiful treasures  . . . from a beautiful and treasured grandmother!!  :)

This reminds me of my grandma! She crocheted afghans for all of her grandchildren - 24 of them! She passed away from cancer in 2000. I still have mine - a white one with peach roses. It is one of my favorite treasures. Thank the Lord for grandmas - can't wait to see her again some day. :)

A wonderful treasure. My mom made an afghan for each of my kids two years ago. This was her Christmas gift for them. They were truly beautiful and wrought with love. She is still working on a quilt for me/ or an afghan. I am not sure what I will get. :)

So sweet! My grandmother made a white one for me and my husband as a wedding gift. Those are things to treasure forever:)

Oh, I have been praying for her to be able to complete all of them. Praise God for her strength and clarity to finish them. What a blessing she is to her family.

Thank you for your prayers! I'm so surprised but happy that she has been able to make so many! It is her therapy -- she says when she is in pain, she crochets her way through it! That's the kind of Mom I have! :)

That is a treasure! My mom passed away last summer. She sewed and made quilts. I cherish the things that I have that she made. I love the recent post where you spent time going over pictures with your mom. I would give anything if I had one more day like that with my mom!

What a great gift and heritage for your mom to leave to her grandkids! I loved looking at the photos. Everyone seemed content with their afghans.
