Welcome back to my weekly series, From my Front Porch, where I share updates from my home and family. My hope is that you'll fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea, or perhaps even a glass of lemonade, and imagine us sitting together on my front porch, chatting about life and catching up on the latest news! I hope you'll join me each Friday on My Front Porch!
Around the House
Wow! It has been a long time since we have visited together on my front porch!! Unbelievably, I've been away from home for six weeks!! The last 5 1/2 weeks I've been at my parents house in South Carolina, and the days before that were spent travelling to and attending my niece's wedding in Ohio!
Have you missed our weekly porch chats? One of my readers recently told me that this was her favorite part of my blog! Sadly for her, I have not hosted a visit here since July 19th! Hopefully, she and you will grab something yummy to drink (a Pumpkin Spice Latte, perhaps??) and settle in for a bit of a long post as I try to catch up a bit!
When I arrived home Tuesday evening, I was greeted by happy faces and lots of hugs, a clean and neat house with soft music playing, some delicious southern BBQ, and this message written by my sweet hubby on my bathroom mirror:
Wasn't that sweet?? :)
It's good to be home! :) Hopefully, I can get back to my house tour next week!
Surprising my daughter, Ashlyn, at the airport when she arrived back in the USA from her 3-week mission trip to Ecuador! (In the picture with Ashlyn is her good friend and fellow mission team member, Becca, and her brother, Ben.)
Celebrating my Dad's 73rd birthday!
Enjoying a fabulous lunch and time of fellowship with my long-time BFF, Lori aka Happy Busy Mama. Believe me, we had a lot of catching up to do!! :)
Spending lots of time with my amazing sister and helping her launch her new career as a homeschool mama!! ;)
Taste-testing Chick-fil-A's new mocha milkshake! :)
Spending an afternoon in Greenville's amazing downtown with my sister and my niece!
Getting a glimpse of a few early fall leaves . . .
And of course, being there for my sweet Mom and helping her any way I could!
There's still more to catch up on, but maybe I can tackle the rest next week when we visit on my front porch!
Thanks for stopping by my front porch for a visit! If you have time, please drop by and visit with my dear friend, Lori. She blogs from the front porch of her cozy little log cabin nestled in the woods of the South Carolina mountains. You will enjoy her warm and witty writing style! Tell her that Elizabeth sent you! :)
Please join me again next Friday on my front porch!!
