Learning to Treasure God's Word {a Giveaway!}

We treasure many things in our society, but I'm afraid God's Word is not one of them.  (That was painfully evident after Tuesday night's debate between Bill Nye and Ken Ham.)

That's why I'm excited to be sharing with you this new resource for your family -- an ebook entitled, A Study of Psalm 119 – Learning to Treasure God’s Word, by Kathie Morrissey, a veteran homeschooling mom of eight and gifted blogger at The Character Corner.

cover Psalm 119

Psalm 119 is a Psalm that glorifies God and His Word.  Out of 176 verses, there are only five that don’t refer to the Word of God.

The purpose of this study, intended for grades 4-12, is to encourage a love for God’s Word and to teach the results and blessings that come from knowing and keeping His Word.

This ebook has 118 pages, and is a 22-week study.  Easy-to-understand instructions and lesson plans are included, so your student knows what to do daily and can easily work through this study independently.  However, parents can also use this as a family Bible study or devotional, and work through it together with their children. It would be perfect to use as a family around the breakfast table or to start off each homeschool morning!

Daily lessons include reading a section of Psalm 119, highlighting words in that section, answering questions in the workbook, copying and memorizing a verse, and filling in a chart. The chart shows names used for God’s Word, what we are to do with it, and what the results or benefits are.  Each lesson shoud be able to be completed in about ten minutes.

I'm so impressed with Kathie and her wisdom and humility! I love reading her blog posts, and enjoyed the opportunity to review this excellent study for kids or families!  Kathie has graciously offered a copy of her new ebook to one of my readers! Please follow the Rafflecopter prompts below to be entered in this giveaway. I will announce the winner here and on my Facebook page next Thursday.  And in the meantime, grab your Bible, open it up to the very center (you should be close to Psalm 119), and start reading!  :)

I would love to win this. My pastor will be starting a series of messages on this Psalm. This would be perfect to do at home with the family as a supplement.

One of my goals for this year is to meditate more on Scripture, so this ebook would definitely help fuel that! :)

I think it is always good to get a different perspective on a subject - even if you think you know or agree - to challenge and protect from pride.
