Welcome back to my weekly series, From my Front Porch, where I share updates from my home and family. My hope is that you'll fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea and imagine us sitting together on my front porch, chatting about life and catching up on the latest news! I hope you'll join me each Friday on My Front Porch!
My life has been so hectic that I didn't make it to my front porch last Friday, but I'm looking forward to "sittin' a spell" this morning! :) I have so much to tell you about, as it has been a very eventful week! I'm pretty tired after a busy couple of weeks and looking forward to relaxing on the porch together! :)
Last Friday night, we celebrated Tyler's 22nd birthday! It was really special to have his Mom here with us for the evening! Not only were we celebrating his birthday, but also the fact that he had been awarded The President's Award at college that day and recognized for his perfect 4.0! Woo hoo! We have been so blessed to have this young man living in our home the past couple years! I can't believe he is about to graduate and move on . . .
Sunday was a very special day. Not only was it Easter and the time when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, but many of our loved ones were baptized!! Taylor and Josh felt God leading them to be re-baptized and to share their testimonies; Bethany was baptized (all except her left arm!); and Kristi's Mom and Dad were also baptized! It was truly a day for rejoicing!! Of course, we followed church with a big Easter dinner after the prerequisite family pictures on the front porch steps!! :) (Click here to see the pictures from last Easter!)
This past week has been filled with preparations for our homeschool co-op's first annual Formal Senior Banquet at the local country club! All of our hard work paid off with a very beautiful and God-honoring banquet that honored our five graduating seniors.
However, this is what it looked like at our house earlier in the day! ;)
Ha Ha! I thought you would enjoy a behind-the-scenes look! :)
We took some pictures on the Front Porch before we left. Unfortunately, the afternoon sun pours onto the front porch, which makes it difficult to get good pictures there later in the day. However, I think you'll still enjoy these pictures of Chris and Hannah, who were all dressed up and looking Fabulous! :)
And here we have Hannah with me and some pics of sweet Bethany!
Yes, it's true -- I now have proof that there is a sweet, pretty girl hidden under the tough tomboy exterior! (Please disregard the green cast!!) ;)
So much more to share, but I'm out of time for today! I'm sure I'll be sharing more about this special time for our seniors in the days ahead! :)
I'll look forward to seeing you here again next Friday on my front porch!
Thanks for stopping by my front porch for a visit! I'd love for you to take a moment to "sign my guest book" (leave a comment!) so I can know that you stopped by and enjoyed your visit! Please join me again next Friday on my front porch!
