From my Front Porch ~ April 4, 2014

Welcome back to my weekly series, From my Front Porch, where I share updates from my home and family. My hope is that you'll fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea and imagine us sitting together on my front porch, chatting about life and catching up on the latest news!  I hope you'll join me each Friday on My Front Porch!

Last Friday, Hannah took the plunge and got several inches cut off her beautiful, long hair!  After donating her hair to Locks of Love three times in the past, she'll be donating her hair again, but this time to a different organization that was suggested to us.  It was sad to see all that beautiful hair being cut away, but we all agree that she looks Fabulous with her new, fun cut, and she feels pounds lighter!  :)

The next day was Hannah's 17th birthday!  She celebrated with a group of her friends and a "Frozen" party!  I'm not sure which she enjoyed more -- the party with her friends or all of the creative activity beforehand when she came up with creative ideas for her cake, decorations, games, etc. She had fun making a white cake with fluffy, white frosting, cutting out snowflakes, and creatively decorating the dining room. The highlight of the party was making, decorating and eating "Olaf's" made out of vanilla ice cream!!  So cute!  :)

On Sunday after church, I headed to South Carolina with Tiffany and Hannah and Hannah's new Frozen soundtrack!  ;)  The primary purpose of our trip was to find an apartment for Tiffany to live in this fall when she attends grad school at Converse College.  However, it was a double blessing to be able to visit with my parents (who are doing fairly well) and to also catch the tail end of my sister's visit with them.

We spent most of Monday and Tuesday at Converse College and hunting for an affordable but safe apartment nearby.

We got back in town Wednesday evening and hit the ground running with an extremely busy Thursday!!  Which explains why I'm a bit late getting this posted!  :)  (Well that, plus the fact that we impulsively headed to the beach this morning after picking up Chris from work!!)  ;)

I hope you've had a good week and I'll look forward to seeing you again next Friday on my front porch!

Thanks for stopping by my front porch for a visit! I'd love for you to take a moment to "sign my guest book" (leave a comment!) so I can know that you stopped by and enjoyed your visit!  Please join me again next Friday on my front porch!

I think your daughter had a great birthday. I am impressed that she has donated her hair three times now already. That is signed of a well raised child.

I love that she choose to go to a SC college. (I live in SC. She is going to be about 3.5 hours away from me.)
