Welcome back to my weekly series, From my Front Porch, where I share updates from my home and family. My hope is that you'll fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea and imagine us sitting together on my front porch, chatting about life and catching up on the latest news! I hope you'll join me each Friday on My Front Porch!
If you missed my post from last Friday, where I shared about our week of fun in the sun, you can read it HERE. As promised, today I'm going to share about our final graduation weekend of the year! :)
Last Saturday evening was our homeschool co-op's first ever graduation ceremony, and we honored five homeschooled graduates from our group. Two of them belong to me! Can you guess which ones?? ;)
Each of the graduates gave a speech; plus each one of the mothers shared from their hearts. Yes, that means I had to give a speech!!! I was scared to death and my legs started shaking like crazy halfway through . . . but I managed to get through it!! :)
Before each of the graduates gave their speeches, their slide shows were presented. I have to give Hannah a big shout out for putting together both of our slide shows! She did an amazing job!! You can watch them both below:
After the speeches and slideshows, we moved to the presentation of the diplomas. Each of the fathers presented the diploma to his own son or daughter. Alan got to do two! :)
Here is Alan with both our graduates -- Chris (18) and Hannah (17)!! Can you read his mind?? He's thinking, "Seven down; three to go!" :)
Since we had the whole family together (except for Joe's wife, Abby), we had to grab the opportunity to snap a family picture! This is the whole gang (minus sweet Abby)!
Here's the line up -- Chris, Hannah, Tiffany, Matt, Joe, Me (Elizabeth), Alan, Bethany, Josh holding baby Sarah, Kristi (Josh's wife), Luke, Taylor and Ashlyn!!
And, of course, we had to end with our family's trademark -- "the crazy pose!" ;)
As you know, the last month or so has been filled to overflowing with special celebrations and events! And now the special occasions are over, school's out, and it's time for Summer Break! Hooray! :)
Thanks for stopping by my front porch for a visit! I'd love for you to take a moment to "sign my guest book" (leave a comment!) so I can know that you stopped by and enjoyed your visit! Please join me again next Friday on my front porch!
