Welcome back to my weekly series, From my Front Porch, where I share updates from my home and family. My hope is that you'll fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea and imagine us sitting together on my front porch, chatting about life and catching up on the latest news! I hope you'll join me each Friday on My Front Porch!
Friday again! How does that happen?? ;)
Does the time fly by as fast at your house as it does at mine???
As you may remember, last Friday my little Bethany was a pretty sick girl. Fortunately, she felt mostly better the next day (her birthday), yet by the time she had taken a shower, she was worn out and spent most of the day lying on my bed practicing her card tricks with the new deck of cards I bought for her! :)
Then, we talked her into getting up and going out to eat that evening, as we had a special surprise planned for her!! :)
Not only did Bethany's older sister, Ashlyn, drive down from South Carolina to surprise her . . . she brought a fun surprise with her, too! In fact the surprise was for the entire family! (Do you remember my niece, Amber, who lived with us for a while back in 2012?) She came all the way from Pennsylvania for a surprise visit!! :) How fun is that!?
Hanging out while we waited on our table . . .
Love this pic of all the girls!! :) Pictured here are Bethany (10 years old!!), Amber (my niece), Sarah (my granddaughter), Angel (Chris's girlfriend), Hannah, Kristi (Josh's wife), me, Ashlyn, and Tiffany! We were only missing sweet Abby, Joe's wife!! :)
Finally, after more than an hour, we got a table! Poor Bethany was pretty tired and hungry by this point, but thankfully, our food arrived quickly!
Bethany was rather exhausted by the time we got back home! It was a good decision to wait and celebrate her birthday the next day, when she had a bit more energy to enjoy her birthday cake and presents!!
I know she looks full of energy here, but later that afternoon she fell asleep snuggling with me on the loveseat and slept for three hours! Actually, she wasn't the only person who took a little nap!! ;)
Good thing everyone rested up on Sunday, because this week has been wide open! The girls have tried to pack every fun thing they could think of into this week, since this is Tiffany's last week at home (she leaves for grad school in SC tomorrow) and Amber leaves to return to her job as a teacher in PA next week. So, they are making memories while they can! I captured a few pictures of their adventures. :)
Homemade Pizza Night ~ all hands on deck!
Unfortunately, it has rained every day this week, and our beach plans were washed out to sea. :( But, that never stopped this crowd from having fun!! ;) How about a little playing in the rain??
Thanks for stopping by my front porch for a visit! I'd love for you to take a moment to "sign my guest book" (leave a comment!) so I can know that you stopped by and enjoyed your visit! Please join me again next Friday on my front porch!
