Welcome back to my weekly series, From my Front Porch, where I share updates from my home and family. My hope is that you'll fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea and imagine us sitting together on my front porch, chatting about life and catching up on the latest news! I hope you'll join me each Friday on My Front Porch!
I'm having trouble finding time to sit and chat on my front porch lately! Have you noticed??
Last Friday, I had every intention of visiting with you here and sharing about our family vacation to Tennessee, but by the time I got home from taking one of my sons to work, my testing student had arrived. Then, by the time I had finished administering his achievement test, it was time to pick up another son from work. Then, I really had to give some much-needed attention to my house and the overflowing laundry basket and think of something for supper, and before I knew it, the day had evaporated with no Front Porch Friday Post! :(
Today finds me keeping vigil in the "sick room." My precious little Bethany has been sick since yesterday and she has wanted me right by her side constantly! She is not happy if she finds I have slipped away from the room while she dozes to complete some needed task!
I think she may be starting to feel a little better, so I'm taking this opportunity to see if I can get a quick update posted! Please pray for Bethany to make a speedy recovery, as tomorrow is her 10th birthday, and she is very upset about being sick for her birthday!!!
Here is a picture of her earlier in the week when she made the brave decision to donate her hair!! Her long hair was beautiful, but difficult for her to take care of. Her new short hairdo will be much easier for an active, rough-and-tumble girl like her to keep tangle free and (hopefully) out of her eyes! :)
We have definitely enjoyed having Tiffany home from Brevard this week! She has been sorting through all her stuff and packing up the things she'll need with her for grad school this fall. One evening she decided to take everything out of her Hope chest to see what she had put in there over the years. One of her discoveries was her favorite baby doll from many years ago -- "Drowsy." Drowsy had once been my sister's doll, and my Mom recovered her body several times! (I'm thinking maybe I had one too?) Isn't she cute??
If you follow me on Facebook, you probably saw lots of great pictures from our vacation to Tennessee! Because I'm pressed for time, I'm just going to post some pictures from one of our side trips and favorite places in Tennessee -- Cades Cove. It's so beautiful and peaceful there!
My sweet little patient is calling me! Hope to see you next week!
Thanks for stopping by my front porch for a visit! I'd love for you to take a moment to "sign my guest book" (leave a comment!) so I can know that you stopped by and enjoyed your visit! Please join me again next Friday on my front porch!
