From my Front Porch ~ September 5, 2014

Welcome back to my weekly series, From my Front Porch, where I share updates from my home and family. My hope is that you'll fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea and imagine us sitting together on my front porch, chatting about life and catching up on the latest news!  I hope you'll join me each Friday on My Front Porch!

It has been another busy week here!  (Are there any other kind??)  We started back to homeschool co-op, and I've kept super busy with homeschooling, working on some projects around the house, and trying to keep up with my two home businesses!!

Monday was Labor Day.  In recent years my husband has disregarded this holiday and gone to work anyway to try to get caught up on his never ending workload. But this year, he actually took off the whole day and we all went to the beach!  It was so much fun!  :)

It was a perfectly gorgeous day too!  :)

Here is Bethany, Hannah, Kendra (Hannah's friend from KY), Luke and Matt.

And here's another picture that includes Chris and his girlfriend, Angel.

How did you spend Labor Day?

For many years we spent every Labor Day laboring on some big DIY house project!  That was during the time we lived in an epic fixer upper!  Often my parents and some friends from church would join us for the work project and a big meal, barnraising style! I remember one year in particular when the men worked to build a new deck and the ladies put together a great feast, while the children had a blast playing together!!  :)  Fun memories!

One Labor Day I actually labored!  More on that next week!  :)

In case you missed it, the Lilla Rose September Flexi and Headband of the month were released this week!  The latest style is known as Dusky Plum, and captures the darker hues of fall in a beautiful way!  Click her to visit my Lilla Rose website.

Thanks for stopping by my front porch for a visit! I'd love for you to take a moment to "sign my guest book" (leave a comment!) so I can know that you stopped by and enjoyed your visit!  Please join me again next Friday on my front porch!

We had a lovely, family picnic on Labor day. It was great to have extra family time with my hubby off work for most of the day.

How is your brother-in-law's hand doing? Also, how is Tiffany doing away at school? I've been praying for both of them.
