Welcome back to my weekly series, From my Front Porch, where I share updates from my home and family. My hope is that you'll fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea and imagine us sitting together on my front porch, chatting about life and catching up on the latest news! I hope you'll join me each Friday on My Front Porch!
I'm sorry I didn't make it to my porch earlier today, as I usually do. I was taking part in our homeschool co-op's annual Krispy Kreme Doughnut Fundraiser! Our little group sold 375 boxes of doughnuts!!! :) Matt is my natural salesman, so he enjoyed getting out there and selling, delivering (and eating!) doughnuts!
This was the beautiful sky we saw early this morning on our way to pick up our doughnuts.
This spectacular sky brought back a vivid memory of when I was a little girl. Every time I asked my Dad what his favorite color was, he would always answer outside of the crayon box with "sky blue pink!" :) Of course, that always frustrated me! ;) But today, it thrilled me to see my Dad's favorite color splashed across the sky! I've decided that Sky Blue Pink may be my new favorite color too! ;)
The biggest news of the past week is that Chris finally got his driver's license!!!! :) We celebrated by picking up his favorite girl, Angel, and having lunch at our newly renovated Chick-fil-A! :) I must admit that it will be nice to have another driver in the family . . . but it sure is hard to let those new drivers take off in the car alone!! Now, I'm down to two instead of three that I'm teaching to drive! Hannah and Luke are both eager to graduate to the next level . . .
Last Saturday, I was a vendor at the Brunswick Stewbilee Festival! So fun! My daughter, Hannah, and my daughter through marriage, Kristi, helped me demonstrate and sell flexi clips! We had a great time sharing some Lilla Rose love, meeting new people, and tasting Brunswick Stew!!!
Tasting all of that Brunswick Stew made me want to make some myself! Is it prideful to say that I think my Brunswick Stew is better than 98% of the ones I tasted?? Tossing around the idea of entering the stew competition next year . . .
So, I've been working on making my meats all week (pork roast, beef roast and chicken) and I threw it all in the pot today! Here's a peek at my big pot of Brunswick Stew simmering on the stove! Doesn't it look good?? :)
Thanks for stopping by my front porch for a visit! I'd love for you to take a moment to "sign my guest book" (leave a comment!) so I can know that you stopped by and enjoyed your visit! Please join me again next Friday on my front porch!
