Scroll to the bottom of this page to see some of the books on home education that have influenced me and helped me through the years.  Classroom teachers are required to take Continuing Education courses.  Don't underestimate the value of this for home educating mothers!  Reading excellent books and articles on home education, listening to teaching CDs, and attending homeschooling conferences are all vital for catching a vision, staying motivated, and persevering through the years!

Perhaps you wonder what the most crucial element is to be successful as a homeschooling parent?  I think it is Commitment.  There were days that I thought I was living a dream . . . and nights that I cried myself to sleep, because my life felt like a nightmare.  It was only a commitment to doing what I believed was best for my children, and fulfilling what I believed God had called me to do that kept me going!  Now, looking back over 24 years -- I'm so glad I persevered!!
